Crews working to recover body from 'remote' area of Mt. Bonnell Editor’s Note: The video above shows KXAN News Today's top headlines for Aug. 22, 2023.AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Crews are working to recover a body that is located in a remote area of Mount Bonnell in west Austin. The Austin Fire Department said on social media Tuesday shortly after noon its Special Operations crews were working with STAR Flight to recover the body.According to AFD, crews have repelled into heavy brush to access and remove the body. It's not clear how the body was discovered or how the person died, but KXAN has reached out to the Austin Police Department for details and will update this story when a response is received. Godsmack coming to Glens Falls this October GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - This fall, a beloved hard rock band is coming to the city of Glens Falls to do just what the title of their latest album suggests. Godsmack is headed to Cool Insuring Arena and "Lighting Up the Sky."The group comes to Glens Falls on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Celebrating the release of their eighth album, the Grammy-nominated band is traveling with Michigan-based metal band I Prevail. The Glens Falls show is the final stop on Godsmack's tour, starting in Baton Rogue, Louisiana, on Sept. 3. An artist presale starts on Wednesday, Aug. 23, with full ticket sales starting on Friday, Aug. 25.Godsmack's fall 2023 tour includes stops in Florida, Ohio, and various parts of Canada. Prior to Glens Falls, the tour stops at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Quebec, on Oct. 22.

Man charged in wrong-way St. Charles I-70 crash that killed a child ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- A Florissant man is facing charges after a child was killed in a drunk driving crash. Dioavian Cook is charged with driving while intoxicated and in the death of the 7-year-old. Police say that Cook is not in custody, but his bond is set at $100,000.Police say that Cook was driving the wrong way on I-70 at 100 mph on August 12, just east of David Hoekel Parkway. That is when he struck another vehicle, which resulted in the death of the child. The 24-year-old driver of that vehicle was also injured.Cook's blood alcohol content was tested two hours after the crash. At that time it was .20%. The legal limit to drive in the state of Missouri is .08%.The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the boy was from Kansas City, Missouri, and he was riding in a car with two others during the crash.

19-year-old woman abducted after Whittier shooting Friends and family of 19-year-old Andrea Vazquez, who may have been abducted after a shooting Sunday at a park in Whittier, gathered to pray for her safe return Monday.  “I’ve never experienced a heartbreak like this,” Edlyn Vazquez, the victim’s sister told KTLA’s Rick Chambers. “I’m just trying to stay strong for her because I know she’ll be back.”  According to the Whittier Police Department, officers responded to the parking stalls of Penn Park shortly after midnight on Sunday after a man reported that an armed suspect approached his vehicle — occupied by him and a female passenger — and fired gunshots in their direction.   Family members say that the 19-year-old was with her boyfriend in a car parked at the curb when another vehicle suddenly pulled up and fired a shot, striking Andrea.
